Nipissing Transition House
Nipissing Transition House is a shelter for women in crisis and their children, prioritizing the needs of women fleeing abuse.
Around the world, “at least one in every three women have been beaten, coerced into sex, or otherwise abused in their lifetimes. Usually, the abuser is a member of her own family or someone known to her.” (Amnesty International, 2004)

North Bay is a snapshot of the world. We think that violence happens to other people, in other countries, in other communities, in other families. The reality is that violence and abuse happens here, in the ‘world’ of North Bay and Nipissing District. It happens to the people of North Bay, in the community of North Bay, in the families of North Bay and it needs to stop.
Our Mission Statement: to assist in the eradication of violence against women and the children in their care within the District of Nipissing.
