Overview of Shelter Services Offered
- Free, safe shelter that is non-judgmental and supportive, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Women can stay at the shelter for a period up to 6 weeks. Crisis and support counselling for both resident and non-resident women provided.
- Telephone counselling – even if you just need to talk.
- Community referrals and information
- Advocacy with community agencies – sometimes you feel as though you are not being heard by the agencies you deal with. We can help.
- Accompaniments
- Emergency transportation specific to getting you to safety.
- Support for your children, including non-therapeutic counselling
- Safety planning
- Education of issues of abuse. Knowledge is power!
With the exception of shelter, these services are available to all women in abusive relationships, even if not living in the shelter.
We provide services to both resident and non-resident women.
